IDUG MRT dosimetry Training Course BNMS Spring 2026

To make sure everything runs smoothly, please make sure that you download the content before each session and that you have followed the instructions relating to computer requirements.

Please could you make sure you bring along a laptop so that you can use these spreadsheets during the day.  We will be using the solver function in excel so please check this is installed. You will require a PC with Excel with the Solver add-in.

Enabling “Solver” in Excel

1. Click [File] > [Options]

2. Click [Add-ins] > [Manage: Excel Add-ins] > [Go…]

3. Tick the [Solver Add-in] and click [OK]

4. There should now be a “Solver” button on the [Data] tab

If Solver isn’t showing

1. Right-click the ribbon/tabs > [Customise the Ribbon…]

2. Tick the [Developer] box and click [OK]

3. Click the [Developer] tab > [Macros]

4. Type in solvermain in the [Macro name:] box and click [Run]

Repeat steps 3 & 4 each time you need to run solver
